Inspiration Thursdays

Because Thursday’s child has far to go…

Why Thursday? Because the steam has run out through the week. Because the weekends can throw us all into the “take it easy” mentality and lead to a little bit of celebratory ‘I-deserve-itis’. When you are working on your Rice and Beans Mentality-you need to stay inspired and focused. When you don’t want to stick to your budget or you want to blow it off. When you think maybe you won’t get there so what’s the point…you need some inspiration to keep you on the path. This is the one I’ve got on my fridge with a magnet. Front and center. Be inspired today!

“To live content with small means;to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden, and unconscious, grow up through the common-this is my symphony.”

-William Henry Channing (1810-1884)

  4. Just finished reading all your posts and really enjoyed them. I am turning Jamie on to your site as she also homeschools and is looking for a more frugal, practical and simple life. She also doesn’t have cable or satellite. Love to you and your family.
